I'm always surprised by the secular world's fascination with the institution of marriage. I don't know why, given their worldview, they don't completely abandon it as opposed to trying to remake it to suit themselves.
If they just wanted to do their own thing they would. But that's not enough...they want to force everyone who disagrees with their lifestyle choices to endorse and subsidize them.
